Become a Pure We're Giving Away SKG Date Kits

A God-sized story unfolds.

A letter from Dannah Gresh. June 24, 2011

“I’m not sure that any of my friends are virgins,” said the girl.

“That makes me want to ask you if you’d have sex, if you had the chance,” asked the woman.”

The girl answered, “Yes, I would.”

The girl was eleven.

But don’t worry, that little girl is in good hands.

The woman was Susan Petry, director of Brooklyn Tabernacle’s, BT Kids. As you can imagine, she began praying that God would give her the right plan of action to introduce God’s plan of purity in an age-appropriate way to the young girls in her care. And in February, I had the great privilege of meeting with her. You see, she’d heard about our free Secret Keeper Girl outreach events in The Bronx (held in January). I believe that it was God’s perfect timing unfolding as he put this need in front of her at the same time that he put it on my heart to reach little girls who lived in the projects of New York with a message of purity.

Our first weekend of events in The Bronx has yielded an ongoing mechanism of discipleship. Danet Fuller, a Secret Keeper Girl mom who we met in January, had prayed for two years that God would open her church’s heart to the Secret Keeper Girl message. I believe her prayers ushered us into her city, and the events opened up hearts. She is continuing to pursue moms who attended our January event and to create a discipleship network for moms to use more than $10,000 worth of free resources that we left behind.

I’m happy to announce that we will be doing our second inner city ministry event to little girls who live in the projects of New York City on August 19th in partnership with Brooklyn Tabernacle. I’d like to ask you to mark August 19th on your calendar to intercede for our team and the Brooklyn Tabernacle children’s ministry as they tackle the issue of purity in the projects. In the interest of full disclosure, this event is not entirely “free.” Brooklyn Tab has generously offered to cover minimal expenses. We are still in need of covering about $10,000 worth of expenses for the weekend – including free resources to every mom and daughter who attend. The resources are our greatest expense, but we believe them to be one of the most critical pieces of the plan to help these moms and daughters reduce the risk of early sexual experiences. I can’t tell you how heart breaking it was to be in The Bronx and to find an extremely high percentage of the little girls at our event to have been either sexually abused or sexually active! And like the little girl at Brooklyn Tab, they were way too young. It is critical that we get into these at-risk urban areas to protect these little girls. And God is opening the doors. We just need a little help to make it viable.

Here’s how you can help us make the Brooklyn Tabernacle outreach event happen.

____$20 pays for a mother/daughter to receive an original 8 Great Dates Kit

____$35 pays for a mother/daughter to receive an original 8 Great Dates Kit and a copy of Six Ways To Keep The Little In Your Girl

We’d love for you and your daughter to sponsor a mother/daughter or several pairs and to specifically pray for us on August 19th.

However, our greatest need is for monthly donors. We have invitations to do outreaches in Detroit, Philadelphia and an at-risk urban area in New Jersey. We need to create a strong monthly donor base so we can say “yes” to more inner city outreaches. Would you consider becoming a monthly donor in the amount of $35 per month? Include your first month’s payment with our commitment and we’ll use it to provide a copy of 8 Great Dates and a copy of Six Ways To Keep The Little In Your Girl to a mom and daughter who attend our event at Brooklyn Tabernacle on August 19th.

Dear Praying Friends:

In a little over 24 hours, the team begins to depart for The Bronx. What a story our God has unfolded. You’ve followed us on this journey and you know of the vision to go, finding the “needle in the haystack” of a partner in Jessica Vail Sauer, but now let me share with you something really amazing.

As we face many challenges this week and opposition, we have needed confirmation again that God called us. As we promoted the event on facebook, a woman who lives in the projects named Danet responded. I called her and she wept as we talked. She has three daughters and here is what she wrote to me today:

Dannah:

God is so amazing the way He gives us the desires of our hearts. About three years ago when I gave birth to my daughter Azariah, shortly after, the Lord told me to nurture my children. So naturally, I ran off thinking, I have to search this Bible and find out exactly what that meant and what I had to do, after all I had four children to nurture. Well one day He said, every child you come in contact with is your child, nurture them. It has not been easy. My spirit has mourned many nights for my babies here in the Bronx and I felt defeated. About a year and a half ago I found your book accidentally in Barnes and Noble in Pensylvania. I believe the Lord led me to that kit and that's how I came to know the secret keeper girl. Since then we have adapted many of your concepts of modesty into our lives and it has totally transformed our lives. Often we sit and plan that one day we would save up enough money to attend one of your tours because there weren't any in NYC. We also imagined that we would be the first group of secret keeper girls in NYC - but we never imagined that this would happen and certainly not so soon. God truly is able to do above and beyond anything we can ever imagine. I cry not just because I am overjoyed but I cry because I feel a renewed sense of hope for my children that God told me to nurture -ALL my children. If we look in the flesh, it looks bad here in the Bronx, but I am truly grateful that we wrestle not against flesh and blood and that there is nothing too hard for God. I will keep praying for Jessica and her family and for these upcoming events on Friday and Saturday. But know this my Sister in Christ, that if you help one little girl on this upcoming weekend then you have done a work for the Lord and truly, you have already helped two and a mother as well. Know that your work is not in vain in the Lord. Please let me know what time you want to meet on Friday and I will be there by the grace of God.

Peace and Love,
Min. Danet Fuller
Galatians 6:7 "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap."

I believe God was drawing Secret Keeper Girl to this woman’s prayers when he gave me the vision to go to NYC and opened Jessica’s heart to host us! Jessica’s church is just around the corner from Danet's!

As we go this weekend, here are our biggest prayer concerns:

1.) Pray that the weather is quieted. No snow.
2.) Pray that the venues are filled. We have only 200 seats in each, but there is much apathy.
3.) Pray for continued financial provision as we still have some funding to raise for this.
4.) Pray for health and safety in our team and their family members, as the enemy has attacked them violently these past two weeks.
5.) Pray for a special shield of purity and protection around my family and the others working to make this happen. The enemy would like to disrupt us in that way, too.

Dannah

A letter from Dannah Gresh. December 23, 2010

Our New York outreach is scheduled for January 28,29, 2011.

On these days set apart by the God of the universe since before time began, about thirty of our team members will take a message of modesty and purity to 600 at-risk tween girls and their moms in The Bronx, give them products and partnerships to follow-thru, and lay hands on them in prayer for anointing for a future grace. If you have donated to this project, are going on the trip, or just feel the stirring of God that we do I would like to ask you to read this letter so you can pray with us. It’s a little lengthy, but it is a wonderful insight from the Lord as received from one of our intercessors for the trip. She wrote this as a letter to me and it quickened my heart to the battle ahead, and I felt it was something you needed to hear, too! I believe you are the guards in this visual picture. Please stand and fill in the gaps.

Dear Dannah:

I'm sitting in the Toronto airport & reading from Nehemiah.  I've practically underlined all of chapter 4 because it just screams of what we are going to the Bronx to do!  Sanballat is angry that the Jews are rebuilding the wall & says, "Can they bring the stones back to life from that rubble?  Burned as they are?” The enemy sees the lives in the Bronx as rubble, no doubt about it---the enemy knows the walls are high & deeply grounded there.

Nehemiah & the Jews built the wall to half its height & Sanballat & others became angry when they saw the gaps were being closed!  Imagine that? Angry because the GAPS were being closed.   Right now, in our prayers we can begin the rebuilding...we can pray that those gaps will be closed. Nehemiah & the Jews prayed & posted a guard day & night.  Those guards need to be on duty right now!!! They have to take their place & begin praying!

The threat of the enemy & discouragement was very real to the Jews: "There's SO much rubble we can't rebuild the wall" and "wherever we turn they will attack us." Nehemiah stood up & said,"Don't be afraid of them.  Remember the Lord who is great & awesome....(I love this next part) and fight for your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives & your homes."  How awesome is that?!   Fight for your daughters & your homes!!!   Who says Christianity is for wimps?  We are called to be warriors & these girls have had no one to fight for them!

From that day on half the Jews worked on the wall & here's the warrior part...half worked & half stood armed with spears, bows, shields & armor. We are going into the Bronx to rebuild what the enemy has destroyed & if any of us thinks it's just another SKG event we are opening the gap for the enemy.  We have to arm ourselves with the weapons of the spirit & begin to pray now that the veil that the enemy has kept over their eyes will be lifted & that the spirit will begin his work of birthing new life into them. Just as the spirit hovered over the void before the world was formed we must pray that he will hover over the void in each of their lives.  The Jews worked with one hand & carried a weapon in the other...that's how real the threat was.

The threat is real in the Bronx because the enemy doesn't want us to rebuild what he firmly has in place.  He doesn't want to see the gaps close but we are going to close them in the name & power of Jesus!   How awesome is that?

Will you pray with us? Pray that the Lord will raise up gaurds. There are about thirty of us going in for this work. I believe God would have us cover each of them with two prayer warriors at minimum. Watch for more details as we do this great work in  January!

P.S. We have raised $8600 to date of the needed $12,000 to do this weekend at no cost to the guests. Please consider how you might still give on the links to the right.

In His Love,

Dannah

An update from Dannah Gresh.
November 1, 2010

We’re going to The Bronx!

As of November 1st, we have the kits paid for. (And thank you to Harvest House, my publisher, who is throwing in 120 copies of Six Ways To Keep The Little In Your Girl to the first 120 moms.)

Now, sit back and enjoy our God at work as I unveil the next chapter of this adventure. Three weeks ago, after talking to a few dozen people who “knew” someone in New York, sending out packages to try to lure them in, and getting no where, I prayed “Lord, where is our partner for this project. Will you show me?” I felt that the Lord said: “Go where I am already at work.” Well, how do you find where he is at work in New York specifically related to tween girls? How do you find someone who will have the heart to follow through with this good start we are offering? Where is that person, and are they a “ministry” or just a quiet stay-at-home mom who loves Jesus? After searching the net, I quickly decided that this was going to be like finding a needle in a haystack. So, I posted a request on my Secret Keeper Girl facebook page hoping to find a mom in New York who could be my eyes and ears. For a while...none of the posts hit me as “the one.” Then suddenly, a mom posted the simple words “The Bronx.”

Jessica Vail Sauer had just discovered our Secret Keeper Girl work a few weeks earlier. And it just so happened, that she is a pastor’s wife in The Bronx with strong relationships with a few other churches near the projects. After a few phone calls, we are working on scheduling the outreach event for January or February of 2011 in The Bronx near “the projects”!!!

A letter from Dannah Gresh. September 15, 2010

I need your help.

New York CityI recently felt God direct me to give away $26,000 worth of Secret Keeper Girl date kits in the projects of New York City. To be honest, I was preparing to pray for provision for our ministry at the moment His Spirit nudged me to do this. (We have an immediate $9,000 un-expected need.) Just as I was about to pray, I felt strongly impressed to GIVE AWAY forty cases of the Secret Keeper Girl original date kit. It’s just like God to press me to give things away, when I’m about to ask for money! (Been there?)

So, imagine with me an absolutely beautiful tween girl. She’s as special to her mom as yours is to you. But this mom is single and surviving on about $23,000 a year. Do you think that she has the money for a $20 kit to prepare her daughter to live a life of purity and modesty? Not on your life. She barely has what it takes to put food on the table. And here's the really sad part, her daughter is more at risk than yours of being devoured by beauty lies (read: depression, eating disorders and suicide), immodesty and early sexual activity if we don't intervene.

A recent study of 294 urban 6th grade girls found the incidence of both suicide and early sexual activity in this age range was higher than normal, unless there were specific parental support to direct a mom to talk to her daughter about limits, monitoring and rule-setting in those areas. Hey, that’s what we do for you! Can you help me do it for a mom who is living in poverty, but desires to raise a pure and whole daughter?

Through special circumstances with my dear friends at Moody Publishers, I am able to take a FREE SECRET KEEPER GIRL kit to one of these mothers/daughters for only $10. This will include transportation and expenses for my team to go there, encourage the moms through a special event and lay hands on these little girls for prayer! I’m taking my 15 teenaged Secret Keeper Girl worship interns for that task!) At this time, we are seeking a partner with a great track record in New York urban ministry to partner with us for this special event. (We have a strong partner option in Queens. Pray that God leads us in this.) While we work out those details, can you help us by donating $10 or more to pay for the costs of giving away one or more of these kits. We hope to raise enough to give away between 500-1000! Ready to roll up your sleeves to help?

In His Love,
Dannah
